Do you realize that MRI exists because of your personal involvement and your sacrificial gifts! Thank you for partnering with us in 2011 and we look forward to great things to come in 2012. I thank you, our leadership thanks you, and our International Team thanks you for being a vital part in helping so many people around the world!
NEWS:
This Friday we have our pre-mission meeting with the 16 members of our Haiti Team. We are all packed and ready to again go to help many churches and communities who are in desperate need. We leave on March 16th and will return on the 25th. We are planning to divide the group into two different teams to serve the general Port Au Prince area and also up north the Ferrier area.
We are already finalizing the trip to Africa in July. We will be going to Kenya for the first two weeks of July, and then invest 2 weeks in Mwanza, Tanzania. Since the summer Olympics are in London this year, we are already pushing hard to get our reservations for air travel. So if you have interest in Africa this year, please contact me (206-819-2550) or the MRI office (425-284-2630) ASAP!
One of our students in Tanzania (Ashley Lucas) was accepted for an advanced degree in dentistry when she finishes her third year. We are excited for her as well as all the other students who are part of our International Team. They are all doing so well in their studies and work, and we are thankful that education is such a major part of the MRI philosophy of ministry and it is working!!!! Thanks Dr. Loree Bolin for all your good work with the International Team.
When I think of the 80+ volunteers; the 3,000 plus people we served; the tons of supplies and equipment we shipped in 2011, I cannot help but think of your faithfulness to the mission of MRI. It is a real privilege to be a part of a movement that has such great impact around the world. Keep up the good work and if you are not already personally involved with MRI, I want to encourage you to think about giving your time, talent and treasure to something with eternal investment rewards.
I also want to thank Antioch Bible Church for their vision and involvement in the work of MRI. Since they provide office and warehouse space, as well as all overhead expenses, every donation goes directly to helping people in physical, spiritual and emotional need around the world. Note: most non profit organizations must allocate at least 25 per cent of donations to administration costs. So, I am continually thankful to Antioch for their passion to support churches, communities and the lives of the very poor through medical and dental aid.

Congratulations to:
Washington State Dental Association Citizen of the Year
On September 23, 2011, Dr. Michael A Karr was awarded the Citizen of the Year by the Washington State Dental Association! Dr. Mike co-founded Medical Relief International, and is currently the Field Director for Haiti. Dr. Karr has led teams of dental students in Haiti, as well as Africa and the Philippines, along with Dr. Mark Walker, Dr. Jeff Parrish, Dr. Jung Song, and his daughter, Dr. Stacy Cerven, all mentioned at last evening's presentation. What most people will never know about Dr. Karr is how much of his life he has poured into this mission, primarily Haiti. Not only has he personally invested a tremendous amount of his money into trips, and establishing clinics there, but has on a number of occasions closed his clinic and taken his entire staff with him...talk about team building! Dr. Mike and his wife, Cheryl, also instilled these values into the lives of their children, now grown, who during a video of the Haiti mission after the earthquake, were moved to tears as they saw the destruction in the country they have loved for so many years. Thank you, Dr. Mike, for your eternal investment, which far surpasses the moment of glory you received here on earth!
